Friday, April 24, 2009Beach bumming

We went exploring this morning. Eddy took us to his favorite shark-tooth hunting beach. We also drove around and looked at the town. It's a lovely day here on North Beach and smells like a hay field! The sun has been shining for two days now so everyone is getting out the lawn mowers! Things are blooming and it's just lovely. But... I have to waste part of this beautiful day doing laundry. Some things you just can't avoid, even on vacation.
Hope it warm and sunny for you!

We walked the docks today and looked at boats and Chesapeake bay scenery. Lots of condos lining the "shore" here. It's a former summer place that has become year 'round and densely packed. Too densely for a couple of old country folk! But it's interesting and very likely a good experience for us. But son Eddy (above with Randy) says he does not want to live in San Jose... I fail to see the difference except in humidity!
Hope you are experiencing news things!
PS: We get to go to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival... as tourists!

We went up the Blue Ridge Parkway today. Gorgeous country! Lots of tunnels. It rained on us a little bit and he made me climb a mountain, which didn't quite kill me. The view from up there was tremendous, tho. We're somewhere around Asheville, NC tonight. I'm pooped.

Everyone has seen the long view of the Smokeys & the fall colors, so I'm posting a more intimate view. The roadsides were rich in trillium of several colors and many other wild flowers, too. Unfortunately not always where we could stop to photograph them. I am still convinced that the Hobbits would love this country!
