Saturday, April 4, 2009A view of Utah

This country is magnificent! Harsh, yes, but beautiful in a way no other kind of territory is. we had to rearrange our travel plans some today not due, as we feared, to weather, but rather to man. A jeep & ATV gathering in Moab that we were unaware of preempted us. We will visit Arches Nat'l Park on our return trip. The weather was not bad and tho our drive ended being a little longer than anticipated we enjoyed the scenery and are now at rest for the night. Hope your day was filled in mild adventures!

I took this when we stopped to let the dog put for a bit, after about out third 7000' plus pass in a snow storm. We've caught up with the one that hit us last night. Now we're parked at a KOA in Ely, Nevada & it's snowing hard and 29 degrees. we may have to rethink our route!

First Morning
4-2-09 Fernly, Nevada elevation: 4046' I don't know why my pictures seem to be b&w but this was the view from our 'boon-dogging camp' this morning. Snowy peaks around us tho only a bit on us, mostly frost. The storm passed over in the night... WINDY! Had few minor problems but all in all, a good first day.
